Electric Bikes

Picture
Electric bikes have the option to use the added boost of an electric motor, making riding the bicycle less taxing. They help greatly with hills, inclines and rough terrain allowing for a smoother ride with less stress on your joints. For those who may be living an otherwise sedentary life, riding an e-bike gets them moving and in nature. This exercise, change in scenery, and fresh air helps improve mood, reduces stress, provides for a more restful sleep, and increases productivity.

More in Store!

We’re a proud Trek bike dealer, but as a small shop, our website is only a preview-there is so much more to see! We carry the freshest styles and colors in-store, or you can visit Trek.com to explore the latest options.
We’ll gladly order the perfect bike that fits your needs, assemble it in-store, and thoroughly check it to ensure it's safe and ready to go!

How Do E-bikes work?

Pedal assist electric bikes amplify the power behind each of your pedal strokes, providing a natural riding feeling that makes it seem like your legs are supercharged!
Electric bikes with throttles let you use a twist throttle to engage the drive system. When the bike is in this mode you don’t have to be pedaling to be powered by the electric motor.

How Fast Can I go?

Most bikes will stop assisting you once you reach 20 miles an hour. Some speed bikes can go up to 28 mph, these are favored by commuters so they move with the flow of traffic

How Far Can I go?

You can get anywhere from 20-100 miles on a single charge. Distance ranges greatly since there are so many variables. The size/wattage of your battery, how often you use it on your ride and the level of power assist you ask need it for and the weight you carry vs the incline.

Parts of an E-bike

Picture

1. Motor

Either mounted in the rear wheel or in the same area as the pedal cranks and bottom bracket. This is where pedal assist ebikes give you that extra power

2. Controller

This is where you can change your level of assist, see your speed and distance, and check how much battery power you have remaining. Some may also sync with your phone.

3. Battery

Higher watt = longer distance. Batteries can be mounted in lots of different places, but those mounted on/in the downtube provide the best center of gravity.
